Stone Mountain Laser Show

Have you been to the laser show this year? Well, if you haven't they have finally changed it. It is the 25th anniversary show and it actually was very entertaining. However, it was not as entertaining as Layla. This summer has been the best summer. Layla is finally at an age where she is learning so many things. It brings me so much joy to see such excitement in her face when she sees some thing for the first time. Last night she LOVED watching the show and every couple of minutes she had to look around and make sure they were also watching. She was so worried that Luke was missing the show he had to move where he was sitting and some sit next to her. She kept turning around and yelling..... "Luke, Luke, WOW. Luke..Wow" She says Wow alot these days. This morning she woke up and said "Laser show tonight". We are leaving for the beach next week. I can't wait to see what she does when she sees the ocean.

Tanner and Trey's First Playdate

Today we meet Trisha and Trey at my parents house for lunch. It was the first time we actually got to lay the babies down next to each other and check them out side by side. Tanner wasn't to interested in the meeting and Trey only wanted to suck his paci and sleep so it was quite uneventful, but there is only so much 2 babies can do together. They are awful cute though. I do think they are going to grow up being BEST friends.

We made Layla lay down with them as well, but she wasn't to happy about it. She has been really good about Trey. At home she has talked about him several times and she has even asked me to draw pictures of him. (of course my pictures are of stick people). Today she kissed him and was very happy to see him. I was very scared she was going to be upset about another baby, but I think she has realized that it is just one more person she will get to boss around. I am sure when Tanner and Trey get older they are going to do everything she says. She can be quite convincing!
I can't wait to watch them all grow up together.

Layla's new talent

Lately, Layla has been a real stinker. She is definetely 2. The other day I gave her some stickers and I went to clean my bedroom. (I didn't leave her unattended--daddy was in the room playing playstation -- well I guess it was semi-unattended--whatever, I was there, but Layla has been practicing her ninja-sneaky skills). All of a sudden I hear laughing from the living room. (Well, I called my wife into the living room--laughing histerically b/c Layla was at it again--the victim--our son Tanner. I turned to see my son and couldn't quit laughing--Layla is just like her mother...goodness, ok, you got me, she's just like her wonderful daddy, but acts like Captain Caveman!)

My Baby Brother got Married

I can't believe that my baby brother got married. I have always loved Naomi since I meet her. She is perfect for Luke. There wedding was beautiful and I was so happy to be a part of it. This is me and Ruthie in the bridesroom about to get ready.

Doesn't Luke look so very handsome in his tuxedo.

Here is Luke and Naomi at the reception with Layla.

Layla was a flower girl in the wedding. I can't begin to tell you how very much that stressed me out. Since she is only 2.5 it is hard to tell if she was going to walk down the aisle or if she was going to scream and cry when she saw all of the people. Layla and I talked and talked all about being a flower girl and that she was going to drop flowers. She practiced at the rehearsal and did great. (A little side note..... many of you might not know that my daughter is a lot OCD). At the rehearsal the first time she was throwing flowers she was spacing them out perfectly and then a lot fell out of her basket so she had to stop pick up the extra and continue on. It was so very funny. With all of the talking and practicing when the time came Jason went to put Layla down on the floor so she could be the flower girl and she had the death grip on his leg. So, Layla and Daddy were flower girls together. Jason held Layla and she dropped flowers. I thought it actually ended up being so very cute. Not to many grown men get to be flower girls.

Tanner got passed around during the entire reception so he got so tired and decided to sleep the last part. I found him a tuxedo to wear to the wedding and he looked so cute.

Here are my parents at the reception.

This is a picture of Luke and Naomi leaving the wedding. I stole the picture off my Aunt Monica's blog. Don't they look so incredibly happy. I love you guys! I can't wait till you get back so we can go out again and talk about everything!

He has arrived

My nephew was born yesterday, July 8th at 8:49pm. He weighted 7lbs and 12.8oz and he was 20.5 inches long. He is so sweet. I didn't get to see him for a long time. Trisha had to have a c-section and they were in recovery for what seemed like forever. I am going back tonight to the hospital to see him so I will post more pictures as soon as I get a chance.

My mom is a nurse at the hospital where Trey was born so she sent her camera into the O.R. with one of the nurses since we didn't know when we were going to see him. Here is a picture of everyone crowded around the camera trying to see a glimpse of that sweet baby.
This is my Ruthie, Luke and Naomi waiting in the room for Trey.
Here the proud parents are about to make it into the room to see everyone.

4th of July Parade

The fourth of July is my favorite holiday. We always attend the parade on the square in Marietta. I must say I am a sucker for a parade. It doesn't matter what kind it is I will watch it. After the parade we always go to my parents house and cookout and swim and then we head to the fireworks in Powder Springs.

Layla didn't want a whole lot to do with holding Tanner so I had to take a picture fast.

Layla loved waving the flags. She kept getting everyones, waving them, then giving them back.

Below is a video of Layla and Ruthie when some cloggers went by playing country music. The beginning of the video is really shaky because I could not quit laughing. Layla has some wonderful dancing skills. I think she gets those from her dad.

4th of July Fireworks

Daddy and Tanner waiting for the fireworks.

We bought Layla some cotton candy and she loved it, but then again what little kids does not like cotton candy.

We saw Tanner's friend Hadden there and they checked each other out.

Layla LOVED the fireworks. This is a picture of her watching them. I can't even begin to describe how very much I love watching Layla discover new things and experience them. I didn't even watch the fireworks. I watched her watch the fireworks. She said "wow" and "more" so many times. She told me what color they were. When the fireworks were over she said"bye bye firework". When she went to bed last night she asked me if we could do fireworks again. First, thing this morning she asked the same thing. We had such a wonderful day spending it together. Layla is going to have to wait awhile until she gets to see them again.

Tanner Paul turns 4 months!

Today we took Tanner to the doctor for his 4 month checkup. He weighs 15.4 pounds. At his 2 month appt. he weighed 11.5. He is 26 inches long. The doctor said his weight and lenght are in 70% range, however his head is larger (disporportionate to his body) At 84%. He smiled at the doctor through his whole appointment until shot time came. He does have reflux and the doctor didn't want to put him on medicine because it doesnt seem to bother him to terribly much. We just have to watch his breathing (he is a VERY NOISY breather). If he starts wheezing we will have to put him on medicine for his reflux. Other than that we are truly blessed with healthy baby.
