A trip to Chuck E. Cheese.

My mom and I decided to take the little ones to Chuck E. Cheese today. We thought since school gets out next week we better go now before it gets crazy. Uncle Luke and Aunt Naomi were off of work and decided to go with us. We were so happy. We all had the best time and we are planning on going again very soon when daddy can go with us.

Their favorite ride was the carousel. We rode it over and over again. My mom and I had to take turns walking next to Captain Drools because we were getting so very dizzy following the carousel around and around and around.

Miss Boss loved it too. They could ride most of the rides together which was very nice.
This girl makes the funniest faces.

Captain Drools loved this little car. He kept talking to Chuck the mouse it was so cute.
Captain Drools' loved riding the horse too.
He wanted to play Skee Ball with Uncle Luke really bad.

Somebody got a haircut!

Well, it has been almost 2 months since Miss Boss gave herself a haircut. I decided this weekend to take her to finally get everything fixed. She was not born with a lot of hair and it has taken her a very long time to grow what little hair she has. This was her first official "professional" haircut. I have trimmed her hair up from time to time (even after the infamous Joe Dirt cut). When we got there she just looked around and as you can tell she was very serious about getting her haircut. She gets so serious about things like this. I have NO IDEA where she gets that from. She did enjoy staring at herself in the mirror the whole time.

What is going on?

It has been such a busy couple of weeks. This time of year is always so very busy for the 2 of us. My hubby and I are both teachers and school is winding down. We are looking forward to the summer and I hopefully will be able to update the blog a little more frequently! Here is what has been going on with us (other than working).......

My brother is in an amazing band....Twin Thunder. They just released a new CD. A couple of weekends ago his band was playing in a little town right out of Nashville. Hubby and I decided we really wanted to go see them play. Any excuse for a road trip. I LOVE road trips. They are always so much fun. We left early Saturday morning and made a few stops on the way to the hotel (mainly for outlet shopping and boiled peanuts, hubby's favorite). We had talked about going into Nashville and spending the day, but spending the afternoon taking a nap sounded better to us since we are getting old and we can't stay up late anymore without a nap. How terrible does that sound..... Well, my brother and his wife showed up a couple of hours later and we went to dinner and off the the bar to see his band play. Since this was the first time I had seen them live (I have heard them in my parents basement for several years) I didn't know what to expect, but they were AMAZING. I was soooooo very proud of him. We had so much fun together. When we got back the next week my sister emailed me an article that was in Performer Magazine about Twin Thunder's debut album.

This is one of the pictures from our ride back. Sorry. I forgot to take pictures there. I am terrible about remembering to take pictures.

After our trip I was SO ready to get back and see the little ones. I missed them like crazy. It was the longest I had been away without either one of them.

This past week not a whole lot of stuff went on around here. On Thursday we went to Pappy's softball game and had dinner at Dairy Queen. Miss Boss and Captain Drools' both LOVE ice cream.

On Saturday we went to Home Depot. Miss Boss and Captain Drools LOVE riding in the shopping carts there. We have also been very fortunate to spend sometime with our neices. Miss Boss just loves playing with them. They always entertain each other so well.

Playing with Daddy!

I love Springtime. It is one of my favorite times of year. We try and spend as much time as possible outside before it gets way to hot and muggy (not to mention the mosquitoes). However, it is also one of our busiest times of year. School is winding down. This to me means more work in order to get everything ready for the end of school. Jason also coaches high school soccer and this week their season ended. When he is coaching there are A LOT of days that I feel like a single mom. He is leaves in the morning before we wake up and when he gets home I am the only one awake. I know that is hard for him to do sometimes. He likes to call me on his way home to find out if there is an off chance they are awake because he HATES going a whole day without seeing these little ones. We are so happy to have him home in the afternoons to play with us. We are looking forward to spending a whole summer together.
