Love Dare

For months my husband and I had heard about the movie Fireproof and that we really needed to watch it. Well, for our Valentine's date this year we rented the movie, put the kids in bed, and watched it. It was so good. I cried through the whole movie. Here is the trailer if you are not familiar with the movie.

We have luckily had the opportunity to participate in a 40 day Bible study. The Bible study is called Love Dare. Love Dare personally leads you through daily devotionals, records your thoughts and experiences, and ends each day daring you to perform a simple act of love for your spouse. We are currently on Day 3. On Day 1 our first dare was not to say anything negative to one another. On Day 2 we had to continue to not say anything negative and then to preform a random act of kindness for one another. I decided to put away Jason's laundry....this might seem weird to some of you, but he always tells me I have to put mine and everyone elses up so to please not worry about his. He also has more laundry then everyone else combined. (From coaching and work I guess) It took me 30 minutes to put fold, hang up and put away all of his laundry. Last night after dinner I came into the living room and set down and played with the kids while My hubby cleaned the entire kitchen. He washed the counters, put away food, loaded, and unloaded the dishwasher. It was so wonderful. Today is Day 3. Today our dare is to buy our spouse something during the day to let them know we are thinking about them. I must admit I didn't give my husband that much credit. I figured he would just pick me something up on his way home from soccer practice tonight, but to my surprise when I got home from lunch with my family this was waiting in the kitchen for me......

He must have came home during his planning period in order to surprise me. Boy did he surprise me. It was so very nice. I can already tell in 3 days that this is going to be a very big changing point in our marriage! I am very eager to see what else God has in store for us as we continue to grow together. I am sure it is going to get harder (because so far it has been fun). I will try and remember to update on how it is going.

Easter Sunday!

We always have a very busy, but fun Easter. The morning started off my going to check out what the Easter bunny brought the little ones.

Here is Captain Drools basket.

Here is Miss Boss' basket. Lots of paint of course. They each got a pair of sunglasses. Aren't they super cool!
After checking out what the bunny brought we all got ready to go to church. If you notice I tried to slick down Captain Drools' hair. I like it all crazy better though! I love how high his pants are too. Heehee.

This is a typical family picture. Miss Boss is trying to make a funny face and Captain Drools is trying to escape. This is one of my favorite pictures to because this captures them all so well.
Here is my and Miss Boss. I know, I know, a picture of me. Can you believe it? I finally remember to get one.
I walked outside to leave for church and this is how Miss Boss was standing. She looked so stinkin cute I had to take her picture!
After church we went to my Uncles house and had a very yummy lunch and then had an Easter egg hunt. Captain Drools wasn't really interested in what was going on. He kept trying to eat the candy still in the wrapper. I had to throw a few pieces away because they were a slimy mess.
She took egg hunting serious.
Taking a break and having some juice!
Miss Boss was in heaven since there was a swing........
and a sandbox!

A really fun week!!!!

So this post is long. I guess that is what happens when so much happens and I don't blog. Well, last week was Spring Break so we had a whole week off. This is one of the many reasons I am so happy I am a teacher and I married one. We get to spend lots of holidays together and the whole summer. Moving on.......This week we didn't go anywhere or really do anything special. We just enjoyed being together. Here are a few of my pictures from the week.

I woke up one morning to this. I love that they are getting old enough to really enjoy one another. They love playing together now.

Captain Drools has a new skill. He is able to get out of everything. When Miss Boss was little I always wondered if people really used straps on highchairs or shopping carts at the store. Now I know why.

My best friend was in town and we meet at the park for a play date.
Miss Boss stayed in the swing the whole 2.5 hours we were at the park. She is a woman obsessed.

Captain Drools was wiped out from a fun day at the park. He feel asleep in the car.The rest of the week Miss Boss painted. She LOVES to paint. She will paint for hours. Everything she sees she wants to paint. A tree, a flower, people. She is very creative.

These are just from one day. I have stacks and stacks of her paintings and being the pack rat I am, I can't throw them away. As you can tell she loves to paint with the color black! I think it is her favorite color. When I bought her a new carseat I let her chose a pink one with flowers or a black one. She chose black. That's my girl!!!!
